Summary/Abstract: In this article the genre of interview (opinion interview in particular) is regarded in the context of reflection of the national cultural values of the North Caucasian peoples in Russian periodicals. The study of the topic within in the system of international discourse revealed the special potential of this genre in the ethnocultural representation of the North Caucasian region. An opinion interview acts as a means of storing and transmitting culturally significant information and allows us to reveal the image of a respondent as a bearer of national mentality.
