Summary/Abstract: Based on the novel 2017 by O. Slavnikova, the paper analyzes the peculiarities of the author’s perception of reality, which is defined by the interpenetration of the real and the unreal. It studies the imagery, the principles of characterization, the specific features of the plot structure, and the intertextual relations. It also investigates the interaction between the key motives of transparency, illusiveness, and factitiousness.
