Summary/Abstract: In this article, we analyze three poems of one of the most important Russian poets of the 20th century, Nikolay Zabolotsky (1903–1958): “The Blind Man” (“Slepoi”, 1946), “Beethoven” (“Betkhoven”, 1946), and “The Ugly Girl” (“Nekrasivaya devochka”, 1955). The formal experiments of the author in the late period of his work are considered. We specify the sources of the poems and some allusions in the texts under study. The investigation is characterized by a combination of historical-and-literary and intertextual methods of analysis.
