Summary/Abstract: In this article, we analyze the works of ancient literature in terms of the presence of utopian elements in them. We formulate characteristic features of ancient social utopia and reveal the main predicates of utopia (such as obligatory presence of an author, search for the ideal in the past or in the future, creation of a unique language for a new utopian state, etc.) on their basis. We conclude that ancient utopia may be called a paradigm of social utopia as such.
