Research on communication of insurance companies with the environment

Summary/Abstract: The key objective of the article is verification of the research hypothesis which indicates that there is a gap of unused benefits resulting from defects in the manner the insurance companies’ manage their communication with the environment. Thanks to the source material gathered for this research regarding the way of communication of insurers with the environment, the hypothesis has been positively verified.. This means that there is a communication gap resulting from the defect in the way of communicating of the insurance companies with the environment. The analysis of responders’ answers shows that a kind of defect with regard to various elements can be observed. The basic elements of the research analysis supporting the positive verification of the research hypothesis include: the lack of any response to the research survey (57% insurance companies), organization structure of the insurance companies (60% of the companies do not have departments with the ‘communication’ in the name), distribution of sources for the communication (shortage of dedicated sources indicated by responders), the key determinants of cooperation with the environment, lack of use, by 75% of the insurers, any tools of benefits estimation from proper management of communication, determinants of the communication management pointed by the responders, the insurers approach to the barriers of the communication development, the lack of a basic communication system and not sufficient media monitoring.
