Summary/Abstract: The concept of private life in the meaning of art.8 within the Convention cannot be precisely defined. It is about an idea whose substance varies depending on the age to which it is being referred to, the society where the individual lives and even the social group to whom he/she belongs. Furthermore, even the Court indicated that it is not even necessary to try to define in an exhaustive manner the concept in cause. However, it was considered that it would be too restrictive to limit the concept of private life to “an intimate circle”, where the person could develop his/her own life as he/she likes and exclude the entire outside world. On the contrary, the respect of personal life should include to a certain extend the person’s right to establish and develop relation with his/her peers, there being no principle reason justifying the exclusion of the professional or business activities.
