Summary/Abstract: Today, when the main resource is an information, archives are becoming important institutions because they are protectors of informations, and therefore present a source of power. In order to use all possibilites provided by the new tehnology, create data bases, attention should be devoted to security of stored archival documents. Documentation must be available, but even stronger protection then in the case of traditional, paper documents must be implemented, because risks are far greater. The control of approach is only a segment, important one, that makes up information's security, which then enables undisturbed, advanced work with documents. It is a complex area which includes not only a physical protection but also procedures and guidelines, as well as the most important element, staff and users. Physical, logical protection and users are links of security, therefore that awareness should be promoted at employees and those users who are connected to it.
