Summary/Abstract: Combating crime is a constant and very topical and problematic part of the overall security issues and the situation in the society. The most serious crimes including murder and aggravated murder, as well as traditional forms of violent homicide, reveal the most common conventional methods and means, although in contemporary conditions use new methods and expertise that contribute to more efficient detection and suppression of these offenses. The analysis of deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) is a method of identifying criminal perpetrators of the most serious homicide. Accordingly, this paper will present, analyze and problematize the application of DNA expertise in discovering and clarifying the criminal offense of aggravated murder. In addition, the work will include a case study from criminal practices Public Security Centre Banja Luka, the Criminal Police Department, where based on the application of DNA analysis elucidated criminal offense of aggravated murder.
