The Religious Notions and the Origin of the Proto-Bulgarians (According to Archaeological Data)

Summary/Abstract: The article draws parallels: (1) between the Proto-Bulgarian archaeological and anthropological data and the Sarmatian ones and (2) between the images on the Proto-Bulgarian gold treasures and the Dionysos’ cult. An assumption is made that the Proto-Bulgarians belonged to the Indo-European tribes and that they were acquainted with the Dionysos’ cult.
