Exploring the Horizons of Freedom: Intelligentsia Facing the Challenges of our Time

Summary/Abstract: This text is about the intelligentsia and her role in social processes. It is pointed out on her valuable part in creating social programs, but also to the certain difficulties because of the inconsistency of the intelligentsia, her abandoning the crucial ideas and even her "betrayal", cleverly mentioned in the texts written by J. Benda, in the mid twenties. It is emphasized that many intellectuals were practically slaves to the various dictators, which is recently seen in the tragedy of the people of Yugoslavia, at the end of the last century.
