Summary/Abstract: The article shows the problem of cooperation of the late Roman intellectuals with governors of barbarous kingdoms in order to preserve traditions of foreign policy communication. On the example of four intellectuals living in various kingdoms of barbarians is created the picture of occupations of a Roman in the service of the barbarous king in the sphere of foreign policy.
