Summary/Abstract: In some recent papers, several fibulae with different technical and formal characteristicswere classified as „hybrid fibulae” or „fibulae of hybrid type”. Actually, this „hybrid fibulae” areeither fibulae of early La Tène scheme (with bilateral spring), or thracian fibuale (with unilateralspring). From this perspective, the concept „hybrid fibulae” as classifying category is neitherconsistent nor justified
