Summary/Abstract: The subject of research – the influence of the accession of the CIS countries to the WTO on the international trade in services.The aim of research: to reveal the features of the accession of the CIS countries to the WTO concerning the access to the servicesmarket.Methods applied: method of comparative analysis, synthesis, generalization, description, logic, legal comparison.Outputs: the world tendencies of the development of the international services market are revealed; the WTO norms regulating theinternational trade in services are analyzed; the features of the international services market of the CIS countries – WTO membersare shown; the commitments taken by the CIS countries are studied.Area of application: the application of the experience of the CIS countries in the negotiations of the Republic of Belarus with theWTO members on services market access in order to reduce possible negative influence of the liberalization of the international tradein services.Summary. The liberalization is a necessary but not sufficient condition for the development of the international services market.The main driver of the growth of the balance of services trade is the implementation of structural reforms aimed at developingthecompetition. This should be the main effect of the WTO accession.
