Summary/Abstract: Vernacular architecture is known architecture in time and material, as well as function. The article deals with a systems failure, which occurred during a contingency – strong rain in a short time period. Planning and development of the countryside is a process, in which many experts, users, other offices and institutions participate. In the municipality of Kranjska Gora communication between the local authority, inhabitants and professionals was intense and good. I dare say, it was an exemplary case of correct communication. Nevertheless, a recent calamity showed several weak links in this chain – a glitch in the physical planning matrix.
