Summary/Abstract: The purpose of this article is to characterize ETFs on the Warsaw Stock Exchange and assessment of their efficiency. ETFs market inPolandis at a very early stage of their development. ETF is a new financial instrument, which was introduced in September 2010. Currently there are three ETFs: ETF WIG20, ETF DAX and ETF S&P500. The basic advantages of ETF are: high liquidity, simplicity and clarity of the instrument, low cost and small deviations from the benchmark. In the paper there is also shown the situation in the global ETFs market.
