Summary/Abstract: The article investigated the conditions of applying programs of outplacement, defined advantages and disadvantages of theirusage and analyzed the procedure of employment of downsized workers.The subject of the study is outplacement − employment of downsized.The purpose of the article is to outline the content and the need of using programs of outplacement during layoff of employees andtheir further employment.The results may find their practical application in the human resources.Layoff of an employee is probably one of the most unpleasant moments in the work of the human resources of the company,regardless of its cause. A lot of companies because of the corporate culture and human resource policies help and support theiremployees after the decision on their downsizing.Outplacement or employment of downsized is an overcome the negative effects of the layoff and feeling caused by it; an activesupport of people who were downsized in order to increase their competitiveness in the labor market and employment opportunities.Nowadays recruiting agencies offer to find new jobs for members of staff that were laid off. The standard package of servicesincludes a consulting of psychologist, an assessment of professional knowledge and skills of the employee, an analysis of the labormarket, a development of individual plans of job searching and online consulting support, making a professional resume and sendingit directly to the employers and leading agencies. Take into account that it is about only assistance in finding a job, but notguaranteed employment
