Summary/Abstract: During the 13th century, the Saxon settlers have built in Transylvania the Lutheran Church from Săcădate (Sibiu County) within the frames of the Romanesque architectural style. Although the advanced decay of the portal’s sculptures renders the identification of subjects or themes almost impossible, some of them are still partially distinguishable. This study aims to analyze the condition of the sculptural elements on the portal and to identify, if possible, the subject or thematic content of the scenes.
