Amendments to the forest offences by means of Law no 46/2008

Summary/Abstract: The object of the legal protection granted by the new Forest Code is generally the national forest fund as defined by Article 1, which states that: “All the forests, terrains intended for forest cultivation or those used for forest cultivation, production or administration purposes, ponds, river beds, streams and other terrains with forestrelated and non-productive uses which were included in forestry structures on January 1st, 1990 or were subsequently included in said structures according to the law, constitute the national forest fund irrespective of the nature of the ownership rights”.
