Summary/Abstract: The article deals with the problem of independent labor migration of Ukrainian women, which began after the collapse of the Soviet Union. The paper traces the dynamics of women's participation in the flow of Ukrainian labor migration from a gender perspective analyzes the motives of migration Ukrainian workers. The conclusion of the work is that the post-Soviet generation of migrant women is a "lost generation" because they were "strangers among their own and of others", "unnecessary people" in their own country that drove them out of the nest, and strangers abroad.
