LOCAL SPECIFICITY AND SOCIAL ECONOMY

Summary/Abstract: The study aims to discuss the opportunity of setting up social enterprises in rural areas employing the elderly and contributing to the preservation of their cultural and ethnic identity. It is an exploratory research and it was conducted in 4 communities of in the Neamţ şi Bacău counties. Comprehensive interview was used with subjects holding the collective memory and it aimed to identify the range of their expectations regarding the setting up of social enterprises preserving local traditions and local specificity. The results emphasize their role both for the direct beneficiaries and communities as a whole.
