Summary/Abstract: The concept "pentatonic scale" supposes a mode formed by five various sounds, laid out, of rule, in intervals of large seconds and small thirds. A mode of five sounds, one or more of which are repetitive, cannot form a pentatonic scale. On the contrary, a mode of more than five sounds (six, seven, eight, etc.), one or more of which are repetitive, can form a pentatonic scale. In short, the pentatonic scale presupposes, on all occasions, five different sounds. The pentatonic scale also lives in the popular music of some other peoples. The objective of this article is to bring to light the particularity, the originality of the pentatonic scale in the polyphony of Labërié that Albanian ethno-musicology has had the opportunity to approach1 • We will look for the features that distinguish the pentatonic scale of the Labërie especially in the polyphonic song of the Labërie, always considering it in its totality, etc., because the survival of this song is not made apart from each, according to,
