Summary/Abstract: The purpose of the paper is to analyze a concept «young family» presented in official and academic discourse. The main question of the paper is how the concept «young family» is constructed in Soviet and Post-Soviet family policy, what social problems are connected with it. The paper also discusses how family practices of development western countries can be compared with contemporary Russian family policy
