Summary/Abstract: The article is focused in a comprehensive description of the construction material used in popular houses. The construction materials together with the techniques are considered as one of the most important values of the houses. In many cases, the materials regarding the way they are processed or used contain a lot of artistic values. The article reflects the achievements of Albanian scholars in the studies in the .field of architectonic heritage, regarding the construction materials. Through this article it is aimed an overview on the aspects of the materials and construction techniques, creating bases for a more comprehensive and contemporary study of these characteristics.
