Economic core region: essence, the criteria for the formation and elemental composition

Summary/Abstract: The paper defines the essence of the economic core territorial production system, the criteria for selecting the elements identifiedin the economic core, and gives a description of the elemental composition and structure of the core of the regional economy.An important feature of the proposed article approach to the definition of the economic structure of the core is a multivariantof this approach, which allows to determine the elemental composition of the core of the regional socio-economicsystem based on the factors and conditions associated with this industry-specific territorial-economic complex in the generalsystem of social reproduction.The article offers and criteria for selecting potential elements in the optimal variant of the economic core, whereby thecore of the economy have been identified Udmurt Republic and the Kursk region - two important subjects of the RussianFederation, the development of effective territorial proizvedstvennoy system which is essential for the successfuldevelopment of the Russian economy in general. This is especially true in the current crisis conditions, largely due to theimposition of sanctions on the part of the developed Western countries against the Russian Federation.The author proposed approach to understanding the essence of the economic core is largely different from that of thepoles of growth points, as in this case, in addition to the nucleus growth poles also include those industries and productionthat form the basis of economic system. It is also important that developing an approach allows the author to determine thecomposition and structure of the economic core with the industry, regional or functional specificity, as well as at differentlevels of the hierarchical control system.On the basis of the proposed approach can define the economic core in other countries and their regions, however, themost important use of the concept of the nucleus of the economy in terms of its crisis or in transition from one socioeconomicsystem to another period, as well as in underdeveloped countries.
