Summary/Abstract: This study brings two kinds of findings – methodological and aesthetic. It presents the results of applying a neoformalist approach to the examination of animated films by means of protocol analysis and the characteristics of films by three generations of Slovak animators who made their authorial animated films after 1989. The research focuses almost exclusively on the analysis of the stylistic features of selected films.
