Summary/Abstract: Word-formation is wide department of linguistics. It is possible to say the same about text corpus which is used in this article – ancient Greek texts of natural sciences. Trying to reflect word-formation in these texts, it is necessary to write about some lexemes which can show obviously ancient Greek possibilities, its variety in unpoetic text, and its translation in Latvian. In this article word-formation is showed, analysing some lexemes, variations, and meaning in context.Treatises of medicine go into ancient Greek texts of natural sciences. There are two great physicians in antiquity – Hippocrates (5th – 4th century BC) and Galen (2th century AD). Their treatises is fundament of development of nowadays medicine, besides Galen’s treatises was basic material of studies of medicine students, these texts were studied both in original in Greek and in translation in Latin.
