Summary/Abstract: One of the biggest challenges facing modern Byzantinists is the interpretation of medieval texts. The author explores the evidence of literary sources, resulting in a new interpretation of the term produces «Amalkits». He suggests that neither Bulgarians nor Russian is not so called.
