Summary/Abstract: Relations between Poland and Germany have undergone significant changes in the last 25 years. Research and public opinion show that the greatest change has occurred on the level of friendly feeling and mutual trust between the two countries. Above all, Poles have overcome their fears and negative stereotypes about Germans in order to open up to their neighbours. Therefore, the success of Polish and German reconciliation proves it was worthwhile endeavour.
