Knowledge Society: An Opportunity for Socio-Educational Development and Innovation

Summary/Abstract: We are witnessing a time of social transformation, as part of a new economy based on knowledge and technological and globalized context. Conceptually, this context has evolved from the idea of “Information Society”, related more to the development of technological resources, to the “Knowledge and Learning Society” focused on ways to construct knowledge and a common culture. Consequently, the name of “Information / learning / knowledge” Society is not a trivial matter, even they are overlapped in the scientific literature of recent times. It is nothing but a demonstration of how ICTs are having an effect at the dizzying speed of social processes and the training needs of the citizens, whose human capital and skills are increasingly valued.
