Summary/Abstract: The novel The Perfume. The story of a killer is a psychological story of an outsider, a psychopath, with a genius sense for perfumes and smells, but deprived of any odor sense from birth. He becomes the best perfumer of all times, but he also becomes a killer. In order to finish the best perfume of all times, his masterpiece, he kills, because the demonic liquid is made of “human essence”. This perfume should ensure him an identity and the love of all mankind. The author shows how easily humans can be manipulated, speaking of the so called mass phenomena or manipulation, where man looses any will power.
