SOME NOTES ON GEORGE COSBUC’S ORIGINS

Summary/Abstract: Our paper proposes some explanations and corrections about the origins and birth place of George Cosbuc, and the role this factors have played in his shaping as an artist. The identity of his ancestors are uncertain, the exact date of birth is also questionable. Searching into archives and into the written memories of people who have known him, we try in this paper to contribute to strengthening the biography of this beloved poet of the Romanians.
