Summary/Abstract: The paper examines several aspects of the interdependence between non-cognitive individual factors and communicative performance in a foreign language. Students should be assisted in the pursuit of their language learning goals while maximising their motivation and minimising the negative impact of their inadequate emotional response through appropriate teaching and evaluation methodologies developed by their teacher.
