Summary/Abstract: The article ŖThe Seizure of Romanian Intellectuals by Communist Power (19541976)ŗ whose drafting came as a result of the study of Franco-Romanian cultural relations after World War Two aims at accounting for the analysis of institutionalized bilateral approaches with the internal observation of the phenomenon of progressive domination of artists and writers. With its various moments of pressure and concession, this was a precious barometer from the viewpoint of French diplomacy as it closely reflected the relation of the Bucharest regime with Moscow, Western Europe and its own people.
