DISCOURS GRAPHIQUE ET DISCOURS SOMATIQUE – TRAVESTI

Summary/Abstract: In this study I analyze the consubstantiality between the written text and the human corporality in the self-fictional postmodern novel Travesti (Disguise), by Mircea Cărtărescu, published in Romania in 1994. The author-character lives the drama of self-identity and lives the nostalgia of self unity? and absolute loss. The dream, the Double, the human corporality and the text are themes that build up the novel and are also, above all, means through which the author-character is trying to rediscover himself and to define his self identity.
