Summary/Abstract: In the 21st century, the age of new technologies, information and knowledge are considered to be the most important intangible assets of modern enterprises, to build a sustainable competitive advantage. The importance of the value of these sources, results in the taking of appropriate action by the undertakings in the field of information security management. The aim of this study is to show the nature and complexity of the concept of information, specify its value, and the presentation of key issues related to the information security in the knowledge-based economy.
