Summary/Abstract: There are considerable prerequisites for building professional competence in the field of computer science in terms of necessary knowledge and skills, and how to obtain them. There are analyzed efforts that Bulgarian secondary school is making on the computer literacy and opportunities for students to present the procedure rules of a specific subject area through formal models (algorithmic thinking) formation. There is motivated necessity of introducing discipline content to make a smooth transition to a bachelor's education degree. The global trends for acquiring knowledge and characteristics of e-learning are considered. We have proposed a methodologically justified sample content of an e-learning course to fill knowledge gaps for future professionals in the field of computer science. The goal is the training course to ensure the prerequisites for the professional competence development.
