Summary/Abstract: The article analyses the new regulation of insurance of professional liability of doctors and other medical specialists, which is situated in the Insurance Code of 2016. The aim of the research is to present for the first time in the Bulgarian theory the main characteristics of the new kind of insurance and to reveal the problems, which arise in process of the application of the legal norms.
