Summary/Abstract: They share the same language, religion, and a long history of love and hate. More often than not, those who felt that the two are parts of one and the same Serb nation--of which Montenegrins are only one small, but perhaps historically the most assertive, part--outnumbered those who argued that Serbs and Montenegrins, Serbia and Montenegro, are distinct entities.
