Summary/Abstract: This article is based on Bénédicte Heim’s Aly est grand, an autobiographical text in which the authoress describes her own scholar and professional trajectory, both marked by a compulsive refuse of any kind of authority or conformism. Working as a teacher is a permanent frustration for her. She is not able to impose herself as a traditional educator, because she is disgusted by anything that restraints the freedom of thinking and speaking. She refuses her own authority. Her only salvation from this limited world is writing. This is what makes her carry on teaching. All the positive and negative energies inherent to this profession are primarily writing resources.
