Summary/Abstract: Remuneration of managers after the 2007–2009 financial crisis have been subjected to extensive regulation. Personnel managers of financial institutions engaged in risky decisions in order to pursue short-term objectivs for which they were highly rewarded. At the EU level, it was decided to regulate the level of remuneration of managers – especially their variable part. Introduced rules should have a significant impact on many executives in financial institutions in the Great Britain. The share of variable part of remuneration in banks operating in the Great Britain is still at a very high level. In this country we introduced numerous, stringent rules in order to regain public confidence in the financial sector, which has been heavily strained in recent years.
