Summary/Abstract: Real estate development is one of the most interesting and most rapidly growing markets in the economy. The introduction of market economy in Poland gave a new outlook on real estates – not as cost-generating entities but as potential sources of revenue, growth of wealth, higher prestige etc. This work concerns with real estate investments and their pricing methods within the accounting system of a company. Investments should appear on the company’s balance sheet either in market value or the so-called fair value. Polish legislation does not define operations methods for computing the fair value leaving it to the companies that have such investment properties – dependently on their accounting policies. This article discusses operations methods for real estate investment pricing based on accounting practices in a large investment company.
