Summary/Abstract: In Nicolae Steinhardt’s most important work „The Journal of Happiness”, the author speaks of many religions: about Judaism, primarily, because he was a Jew, then about Catholicism, Protestantism, but also about Buddhism, as well as about Jehovah’s Witnesses. However, he always returns to Orthodoxy. Why? Because, since the beginning, he has loved the Romanian people, Romania and the most important of its religions, Orthodoxy. In the journal, he praises Christianity. For him Christianity means joy, but also sacrifice. His only suffering was that he was not born a Christian. This suffering, over time, turned into a great happiness, that of having known Christ.
