Summary/Abstract: Abstract. The main focus of the paper is to present briefly the issue of representation in literature and its specificity in the context of the social, political and ideological mutations of the newly established Soviet State and of World War 2. While the principles and the main stages of the Socialist Realism are highlighted, they are also wrapped in and intermingled with various aspects of war ideology regarding the Soviet war prose. The analyzed Soviet novel is A. Fadeyev’s The Young Guard as a representative of the romantic perspective on war and on heroism, supporting the idea of daily heroic deed and heroic death in the established tradition of Soviet reality depiction.
