Summary/Abstract: This article presents the results of research on selected correspondence of Philip Melanchthon to certain Polish men. Letters To the Polish Nobleman are an expression of concern about the fate of the Christian Europe threatened by Turks. Melanchthon is seen primarily as an educator who outlines the image of an ideal citizen and knight humanist. The article contains short biographical study of Eustathius von Knobelsdorf and two Melanchthon’s writings translated from the Latin into the Polish language.
