Summary/Abstract: The author starts from the question if the wartime propaganda of liberal de- mocracies really is different from the wartime propaganda of undemocratic regimes. As an example he uses the seldom analyzed wartime activities of Walt Disney whose studio was under the direct control of the Government and Army of the USA during the war. After the taxative analysis of Disney’s wartime production, one concludes that at the time of fundamental and existential endangerment of the country and population, even liberal democracies incline toward the propagandist abuse of all the means of communication, including children’s programs such as animated films.
