Summary/Abstract: This article is a brief presentation of the work and legacy of Andrei Şaguna to the entire Church till now. By observing his life and activity in different fi elds—ecclesial, social, political, national, cultural—one can notice that Saint Metropolitan Andrei Şaguna initiated and completed a true movement of Church renewal for the Transylvanian Orthodoxy. In order to fulfi ll his work, hierarch Andrei undertook several actions, such as having a prolifi c political activity, sacrifi cing himself in organizing and reorganizing the school system for the parishes in his eparchy, the re-foundation of the theological and pedagogical seminar in Sibiu to the purpose of providing quality training to future priests who could face social, national and confessional challenges of the time, continuous liturgical service and service initiative meant to resuscitate the social-cultural life of the parishes and of the Orthodox believers exhausted by anti-Orthodox oppression and pro-Uniate attitude by the House of Habsburg until 1848, and, above all, a tremendous publishing and editorial activity for the time, consisting in publishing and editing of numerous literary, historical, pastoral, moral, Bible-related, liturgical and canonic law works.
