Summary/Abstract: Despite the demise of the Soviet Union, the pattern of strategic partnerships and alignments among post-Soviet states has not changed significantly. Most states still find themselves aligning with Moscow through multilateral frameworks or bilateral agreements. Any significant change will only be accompanied by the abandonment of zero-sum logic and the dispersion of economic and political ties in multiple directions.
