Between the sociology of crisis and „crisis” of sociology

Summary/Abstract: This article is an attempt to give a generalized reflection on the situation of sociology in Poland. It was inspired by the 15th Polish Sociological Congress in Szczecin and Popper’s criticism of the methodological foundations of social sciences. Special attention is paid to the ‘crisis’ as a subject of sociological and related challenges (for example: changes in the social structure), as well as the image problems of sociology in Poland.
