Summary/Abstract: Vertebrated Romania is the first volume of publicist writings written by Radu Vancu, one of the most appreciated and the most credible intellectuals in the Romanian public space. His political articles are drawn from his assumed centre-right political views, yet, at the same time, they represent the intellectual’s critical attitude towards any type of abuse. Thus, his journalistic prose is one with attitude and its structure is primarily ethical. As a refined and lucid intellectual, Radu Vancu has an evident tendency towards syllogistical approach as he resorts to evidence, rational arguments and pertinent conclusions. His style is characterized by concision, clarity, balance and avoids rhetorical inflation.
