Summary/Abstract: On the topic of sheikh Hamza Bali and hamzevi tarikat a number of papers have been written, not only on the languages that are spoken in Bosnia and Herzegovina, but also in many world languages. References of hamzevi dervishes in folk tales and legends are countless. Mixing of historical facts and legends, scientific theories and teaching, considering hamzevi tarikat is so frequent as to constitute an integral part of the culture. It would therefore be extremely difficult to write methodologically consistent and scientifically elaborated historical and cultural overview of the role and importance of hamzevi tarikat in the Bosnian-Herzegovinian culture. For this reason, in this article we have choosen to retain only on some examples, focusing on the presentation and role of the hamzevi tarikat in novels Fortress by Meša Selimović and Hodža Strah by Derviš Sušić.
